Surf, Paddle, Breathe: An Evening Workshop with Mike Guest & Adam Harker At Lost Shore Surf Resort

Thursday, 5th June, join Foundation Training instructor Mike Guest and osteopath and breath coach Adam Harker for an immersive evening of surf, movement, and recovery designed to help you surf stronger, move better, and develop a more sustainable connection to your body. (From 6.30 pm until 9.00 pm)

What to expect:

  • Check-in 6.00 pm
  • Freedom Paddling with Adam Harker (6.30 - 7pm)
This is not about paddling harder  it’s about paddling smarter. Adam will guide you through his Freedom Paddling method, focused on easing the body into better alignment and longevity in the water. Through postural assessment (standing, paddling, sitting) and breathwork, you’ll learn how to reduce tension, improve flow, and paddle with more awareness and less effort.
  • Expect to explore:
    • What posture really means  and how it plays out across different positions
    • How perfect a technique isn’t always sustainable
    • Strategies for building ease, not just power
  • Surf session in the wave pool (7 - 8pm)
Apply what you’ve learned during a surf session, giving you real-time feedback and space to experiment with Mike and Adam in the water with for real timer feed back.
  • Foundation Training with Mike Guest (8.15 - 9pm)
After the water, Mike will guide you through a spine-decompressing, core-activating session to reset and restore your body. This simple but powerful practice improves movement patterns and supports long-term strength and recovery.

What you’ll learn:

  • Breath techniques to manage stress and support movement
  • Paddle awareness for sustainability and injury prevention
  • Postural alignment across surf-relevant positions (standing, paddling, sitting)
  • How to decompress and realign your spine through Foundation Training
  • Tools for self-awareness and sustainable surf performance

What to bring:

  • Yoga mat or towel
  • Comfortable clothes for movement
  • Your surf gear

What you’ll take away:

  • A new perspective on paddling — focused on longevity, not just output
  • Breath and posture tools for both surfing and daily life
  • Better awareness of how you move and why it matters
  • Recovery techniques to support your body after time in the water

Surf experience - Whether you're getting back into surfing or surf regularly, this session is designed to meet you where you’re at — and help you build a stronger, more easeful foundation for the long run.
