For adaptive surfing at Lost Shore Surf Resort, we have partnered with Inclusive Surfing Scotland (charity number SC052597) to offer accessible surf sessions to children and adults with disabilities.
Inclusive Surfing Scotland delivers beginner sessions in the bay and support experienced para-surfers on the reef. If you are interested in adaptive surfing at Lost Shore Surf Resort, please contact Inclusive Surfing Scotland to arrange a lesson or session.
Para-surfing
Para-surfers are surfers with disabilities who are confident surfing more challenging waves. The reef in our Cove is only suitable for para-surfers who can trim along the face of a green wave and who can link turns with control. For para-surfers who surf independently (without in-water support), please book via our regular booking page.
However, we know that some para-surfers require assistance from a support team to catch waves. There are two main groups of surfers who require support in the water:
- prone assist surfers (who surf with a pusher and catcher/s)
- surfers who are visually impaired (who surf with a spotter)
If you are a para-surfer travelling with your own support team, please read this guide prior to booking. Then book in both the surfer and their pusher /spotter with the products below. Para surfers who require a support team, but are not travelling with one, should contact Inclusive Surfing Scotland to arrange a session.
